The beauty and splendor of old New Orleans is captured exquisitely by the decor and atmosphere of this authentic Lower Garden District 1846 Mansion. We are located near the French Quarter, Superdome and Convention Center, in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans on historic Prytania St., one block from the St. Charles Avenue Street Car. This is a special place to experience living in New Orleans in the 1840's and how Weddings, Parties, Meetings and Family gatherings were done.
There are actually three beautiful courtyards at The Parisian Courtyard Inn. Just outside the Double Parlors is a large rectangular patio, with a bar area ready to serve your party.
Walking past the bar, you'll notice the fountain centered in the brick courtyard. As you follow the balcony on your left to the rear and pass through the portico to a lush landscaped garden, you'll find a second courtyard with another bar.
The Parisian Courtyard Inn is one of the oldest buildings in New Orleans. Built in 1846 by Rufus McIlhenny of the Tabasco family. The monolithic columns frame the wrought-iron balcony to protect the stucco facade and 12 foot walk-thru windows. Enter the huge door to the great hall with double parlors and a sweeping six-foot circular staircase to the upstairs. Front and rear brick and slate courtyards with fountains provide a tranquil, relaxing setting.
In 2005-2006 the home was lovingly restored retaining the historic charm while incorporating all the modern amenities expected in a fine hotel. New baths, separate HVAC in each room, hardwood floors, carpet, TV, and refrigerators. Some rooms have balconies.
The Parisian Courtyard Inn offers Accommodations, Weddings, Parties, Clubs, Reunions, Graduation, Seminars and Business Meetings.
